USER GENERATED VIDEO CONTENT
The availability of broadband access, data storage and low cost recording devices has been fueling the rise of user generated video content. Teenage broadband and mobile users are making their own content and sharing it online.
Recording and making a video clip available for sharing has been a tricky process. Storage on mobile devices is often limited. Transferring a video clip wirelessly via packet-switched data modes is costly. It is inconvenient and time consuming to record on a mobile device and transferring the clip to a PC for uploading to servers later.
Nano VRS (Video Recording System) is designed to simplify the process. Users simply dial a telephone number to access the system. Upon connection, interactive video menus guide the users to start recording, stop, review, submit, etc. The recorded clip is pushed to the service provider for publishing as soon as the call is hang up. This approach makes recording and making a video clip available online truly mobile and affordable.
This also opens up the possibility new enterprise applications. For example, recruitment agencies could easily collect video resumes, and publishing and broadcasting firms could offer a new method for newsgathering.

Nano VRS (Video Recording System) is designed to simplify the process of online 3G video recording and publishing. It is a software product that runs on standard Intel server. With VRS, service providers can offer 3G users a simple and convenient method to record and submit self-generated video clips.
The user simply makes a 3G video call to the published service access number. The call is routed to the VRS by the 3G network. VRS plays video menus to guide the user to recording a clip upon call connection. The video menus are pre-recorded clips customizable by each service provider. The real-time video stream from the user's 3G handset is recorded directly in VRS. The user is allowed to review, delete, re-record or confirm submission of the recorded clip.
The recorded clips will be pushed to designated remote servers using FTP over IP network at system administrator configurable time intervals. The clips are sent in 3GPP format that can be playback on most media players.
VRS can be configured to provide multiple services for different service providers. Each service provider is allocated with an account. Each account can have its own associated service access number. Secure web access allows the service providers to remotely log in and configure the settings of their services.
VRS enables applications such as video, dating & match-making portals, video resume, newsgathering, and any specialized services that may benefit from any time, any where mobile video recording.
