3G VIDEO PUSH

Some video services require video clips to be delivered to users via server out-dial or "push". This is particularly relevant for specific user requested content and event-triggered and scheduled deliveries.

Some examples include:

    d User request via SMS
d User request from a WAP page
d User request from a Web page
d Scheduler triggered requests at pre-determine intervals

Applications that would benefit from this approach include:

d Printed advertisements on newspapers, magazines and outdoor advertisements - interested readers could send a SMS to request a video clip of the product.
d Video Greeting & Dedication applications - users could preview and select video greeting cards from a WAP or Web site and dedicate them to their friends and relatives.
d Organizations such as fan clubs, special interest groups, etc. may schedule to send video updates regularly to their members.
NANO 3G VIDEO PUSH SERVER

Nano VPS (Video Push Server) is a generic 3G video call out-dial system. It is a software product that runs on standard Intel server. VPS enables service providers to offer video services that "push" video clips to designated recipients upon receiving a trigger from an external application.

VPS is designed to support multiple services on a single server. Each service may have it owns pre-recorded video preambles and end messages. Standard HTTP API allows external application servers such as SMS gateways or schedulers to trigger video out-dial.

In Singapore and Malaysia, Nano VPS based 3G Video Push Services are available on hosted and managed basis. Please refer to www.8streams.com for details.
