The Engineering Project Show (EPS) is a biannual event that showcases the best works of final year Engineering students. The 3G Video Portal for TP project aims to create a pervasive portal service accessible through mobile devices. The portal provides information-on-the-go for students, potential student applicants, as well as their parents. The service will be especially useful when the school has on-going exhibitions and during the student admission period. Using the service, parents and potential students can easily locate course booths and registration counters in the campus through 3D landscape videos. They can also access related video news and course highlights on the portal.

Temasek Polytechnic lecturer and supervisor of the project, Mr. Jeremiah Seah is pleased with the support provided by Nano Equipment and the ease of changing and uploading video contents through the user friend web interface. The staffs and project judges who tried the service were amazed at the smooth video playback as many had expected halting or buffering due to the perception of over-the-air data streaming. Mr Seah feels that such mobile 3G video portal services will be essential for companies and public organisations as conventional web portals are not as pervasive for current generation of end users who demand information on the go.
